Delete Your Account & Data
You can delete your Gleam account at any time. When you delete your account, your profile and all personal data are permanently removed. There are two ways:
1. From within the app (recommended)
1 Open the Gleam app.
2 Go to Settings → Account.
3 Tap "Delete my account" and confirm.
Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days. If you sign in again within those 30 days, the deletion is cancelled (a grace period to change your mind).
2. If you can't access the app (by email)
If you've uninstalled the app or can't sign in, you can request deletion by email:
Email: legal@yougleam.app
Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
Include: the email address or username on your account.
We may ask for additional info to verify your identity. Your request is completed within 30 days at the latest.
Data that is deleted
When your account is deleted, all of the following personal data is permanently removed:
- Your profile (name, username, bio, photo, birth date, email)
- All your Moments, feelings (daily emotions), capsules and manifests
- Your Glow and Relate interactions, and your stories
- Your bonds and bond chats
- Your follow relationships, block and mute lists
- Your duel history and stats
- Your notifications, special days and device records
- Your sign-in and security logs
Exceptions
- Champions archive: Your past duel champion records are anonymized (identity removed, shown as "Deleted user") to preserve the integrity of the hall-of-fame history.
- Legal obligations: Limited records required to be retained by law (if any) may be kept for the legally required period, then deleted or anonymized.
Want to download your data first?
Before deleting, if you'd like a copy of your data: in the app go to Settings → Download my data to export everything in a machine-readable (JSON) format.
